Last weekend we took a trip to the middle of nowhere aka Gräfenhainichen aka the "City Of Steel" (no homo) to see some of hiphop's future hall-of-famers perform at Germany's #1 hiphip festival "Splash".

The opening Friday was dope, with a powerful performance by Germany's "top of the class" MC Kool Savas followed by a solid, but not spectacular NAS & Damien Marley show (NAS & Derrick Rose separated at birth??)

On Saturday we got a chance to see our childhood heroes the mighty Smif N' Wessun do what they do best on stage before we headed over see our good friends Chiddy and Xaphoon perform at the Red Bull academy stage.

There is always one "I'm glad I didn't miss that!" moment at these type of festivals and this time it was most definitely Chiddy Bang's show. Xaphoon is a real beast on his live drum-set and Chiddy's freestyle performance is second to none! There is little doubt that Chiddy Bang will be back on a larger stage next year!

After Chiddy's show it time to head right back to the main stage for some "midnight madness" as hiphop's (arguably) most influential group the WU-Tang Clan took the stage. There was a big "?" about which WU members would actually show up and to the capacity crowds delight the entire Clan including Meth, Ghostface and Raekwon made their way to Gräfenhainichen to pay respect to a country that has been supporting them heavily since day one.

And after the show ... it's the backstage-party that featured a whole LOT of BSTN' gear. Big Ups to Chiddy Bang, Sean Price, Palina, Moe Mitchell, Harris, DJ Ron, DJ Shusta, Tefla & Jaleel for showing love! ... BEASTIN' salutes you!
